Just a short note to remind you that Wednesday 21st July is the last Gateway club before the summer break. If you are coming to Fame on 28th July you will get another note with times etc. We will return on Wednesday 15th September when you will be given a new programme of events. Everyone at Gateway wishes you a happy and healthy summer break and we look forward to seeing you back in September.

On Sunday the 22nd August 2010: From 12-2pm we have provisionally booked place at Three Peaks Outdoor Pursuits, Farnham. We need 15 or more people to commit to participating in the Sponsored Zip Wire for it to take place!

There is no entry fee, but you will be asked to raise the minimum of £65 sponsorship money. This is an exciting opportunity to challenge yourself, friends, family or colleagues to climb 65 feet high, enjoy the view, then to zip down 600ft! (Minimum age: 8yrs)

We cannot host events or raise funds without your support! All the funds raised will go towards supporting the many clubs and services that take place at Parkside daily.

This is a really exciting chance to test yourself while supporting your local charity that needs your help!!

At King George V Park Pavillion and then Rectory Road Park and Queen Elizabeth Park and finishing at King George.
Each walker gets a free printed t-shirt. there will be a childrens treasure hunt and colouring in competition. Free refreshments before and after the walk in the pavillion.
Suitable for ages: 5 - 75
Cost: £3 plus sponsorship (50% to your chosen charity, 50% to Lions funds for local community.

Parkside is fortunate enough to have a collection allocated at Tesco’s in Aldershot on Wednesday the 21^st of July and Thursday 22^nd of July. Slots run from 9.30am till 5.30pm and we need dedicated volunteers to help fill all the slots to help raise as many funds as possible! The Music Therapy Performance which took place on Thursday 13th May was a scorching success and raised £197.65. The money will go towards raising specialist music equipment for the Music Therapy Group.

Well done to the Music Therapy Group and Music Therapist Diane for all the hard work that went in to the performance. Parkside was full and there were even people standing! And everyone enjoyed ice cream on a nice sunny day.

Well done, and watch this space for the next performance!

With the Fun Day fast approaching we need many prizes in the form of bottles, smellies, unwanted gifts, vouchers and anything else that you can spare!

The Tesco's Schools and Clubs Vouchers have now ended!

The green vouchers which you are given when you spend over £10 at Tesco's has now ended! But do not fear, if you have any floating around your purse or wallet there is still time! We need to have collected and counted all vouchers by Thursday 27th of May 2010. So send yours in today!

Just a reminder that the Music Therapy Groups performance 'Heatwave' is this Thursday the 13th of May at 1.45pm!

Heatwave is a summer explosion of singing, dancing and acting! Come along and enjoy the show!

There will also be refreshments, icecream and a raffle!

As you may or may not know, Parkside are currently in the midst of planning a new project which will see a Cafe being built and run by our clients in Aldershot Park. This is a fantastic community project which will not only provide the opportunity for our clients to learn vital skills for life, but will also give back to the community by providing refreshments at low prices to the general public.

We are currently trying to get funding for this project and need as much support as possible. I have set up an online petition where you can sign your name in support of this project which will help show how beneficial this project will be to the community as a whole. On the page, you can also view more detailed information about the project itself.

Parkside is now collecting the green Tesco Schools and Clubs vouchers!

You can help Parkside get new outside play equipment as well as new gardening equipment by donating your Schools and Clubs vouchers to us. Last year your kindness and donations allowed us to get lots of sporting equipment to use across all the services!

Parkside will be entering the Rushmoor In Bloom competition this year and we need your help! We are asking for any old or new wellington boots, any size, any colour, any shape! They do not have to be in pairs or in good shape! We will be using the wellington boots for garden display purposes to plant flowers and vegetables! So help us and recycle! Although we will not be judged until late June or early July we need to start planting now! If you have any old boots please get in contact ASAP!

Parkside are seeking donations in the form of unwanted gifts from Christmas or Birthdays! We host many raffles throughout the year and seek gifts to raffle or tombola. If you are having a clear out, please think of us first! Anything from toiletries, bubble bath, chocolates, jewellery, toys, kits, absolutley anything would be greatly recieved and appreciated!

We currently have available spaces on our Personal Improvement Plan (PIP) Monday Morning Out and About group.

If you are interested in seeing what activities the group does, please see the PIP Timetable on the right hand side.

There are also spaces available on Monday afternoon PIP where the group goes swimming with members of staff offering one to one support.

Join us on a Wednesday morning, 11am until 12.30pm for music and a dance drop-in with musical equipment and lots of energy!

Clients must be accompanied by a carer and refreshments will be provided.
