July 2010 - All the Fun Day Volunteers

I would like to thank all the volunteers that came along and gave their time to help out on or before the Fun Day.
Without supporters, the Fun Day simply couldn't happen and we are very grateful to everyone that supports us through donations or through giving their time. It does mean a lot to us and without you we simply could not host big fundraising events such as the Fun Day.
Thank you.

February 2010 - Kevin

Hello Kevin! We have chosen you to be our first person in the hall of fame as you have been coming to Parkside for a long time. Kevin has been coming to the Personal Improvement Programme known as PIP since it started.
Can you tell us how long it has been?
Nearly 11 years!
What do you enjoy the most about coming to PIP?
I like helping the staff, showing the new staff the ropes, helping them to get to know the others (clients). I show them where the files are and if they get stuck I take them to the managers.
What’s your favourite activity or trip?
I like bowling, I help (to) get the balls out for the rest of the group. If there are no balls in the rack I go find some for the others. Sometimes we play in three’s or fours. Most the time I get it right (score).
I like music (Music Therapy Class) as I get to make a lot of racket, you have to concentrate. I play the tambourine, symbol, triangle and drum sticks, we then pass things (instruments) around, so everyone gets the chance to have a go. It’s good (way) to get to know staff and clients.
I like all the staff, you can put it this way they’re good aren’t they and I help them keep the place tidy all the time.
What’s your best memory from PIP?
Halloween performance was the best and we had our faces painted, it was perfect and I was Frankenstein.
